So, we got ourselves a big ol’ rooster. Not by choice… as we actually bought three chicks that were supposed to be hens. However, they can’t guarantee it, so we ended up with two hens and one rooster.

Now, while he can’t lay eggs, we are enjoying having him around. He is a very docile rooster to us humans. But he takes very good care of his hens. He keeps them inline and helps them find food. He even guards them as they lay their eggs. And the crowing isn’t any worse than the goats maaaa.

So, we have decided to let him stay. He is very pretty to look at too!
