346I started this blog on the first day of the year in 2012. It was a bit of a resolution to help me track our growth on this new adventure of hobby farming. I am proud that I have maintained it for three years, but I also realize I haven’t been as good about posting as I was the first year.

One of the reasons is I have less new stuff to post… because there are a lot of routines in farming and consistencies. However, there are still surprises and new challenges, and I hope to remember to keep updating about those over the years.

The best thing for me about this blog is looking back and reading about what happened (and when) over the past two years. Time certainly flies by quickly, so is it  fun to read about your past again and again.

For example, I realized on New Years Day this year in 2015 that it was very windy like it has been the last three New Years Days. Sustained winds were in the 30s and 40s with gusts to the 50s and 60s. This year, however, it was also very cold… with lows and highs in the 20s. So the wind was particularly miserable. Either way, it is interesting that the beginning of each year starts off very windy in our little woods!

Happy New Year to all!
