Summer weather is always shorter than we want and we have to really make this drier time count on the farm. So, this past Saturday we rented a nifty push behind tractor and got to work.
We chose this tractor because it is smaller, easier to manage and has less impact on the land. Our goal was to move the dried mud out of the horses’ pen into the round pen and then add a thick layer of gravel. We want the round pen to be more flat and the horses’ pen to be mud free this next winter.
First the dried mud combined with old bedding, manure and feed got moved.
Last, the round pen was leveled.
Job done!
