One of our favorite places to grow our potato crop each year is in an old, composted manure pile. We basically let the manure sit for well over 6 months under a tarp. This leaves us with fresh, black gold – the kind of soil that you can really dig your hands into. It is amazing how something old is turned into something rich and useful! Compost is an amazing process.
This year, we took the pile and built a raised bed around it with some old wood we had. The potatoes are growing and happy! Can’t wait for the potato crop this fall!
